:: Counselling

What happens during counselling?

First, you will meet with a counsellor who will help you discover what you want to achieve or change in your relationship. If you both agree Chesterfield Relate can help, you will then have regular sessions with your counsellor to find a good way forward.

How long will it last?

We deal with every situation differently, so the length of time counselling takes is tailored to your needs. Sessions usually happen weekly and your counsellor will always work at your pace, not to a timetable, so you will never feel rushed or obliged to come back unnecessarily.

Who comes to Relate?

We see people individually as well as in couples. People who come for relationship counselling can be part of a couple, single, in a same-sex relationship, young or old.

I have some other questions.

No problem. We want you to be as well informed and comfortable as possible before you undertake any counselling. So please click on FAQ above, or feel free to contact us on the phone number or the e-mail address on the 'contact us' page and we'll do our best to answer any queries you may have - in confidence, of course.
